A contagious bacterial disease able to spread among many mammals including humans. Can result in renal failure or chronic kidney disease even if the disease is successfully treated.
Physical Symptoms
Depression, lethargy, fever, jaundice, internal bleeding.
Cause/Transmission
Bacteria acquired upon contact with infected urine from dogs, rats, or other mammalian wildlife.
Treatment
Consult your veterinarian. Be especially careful around infected animals as this disease is zoometric.
