Vizsla
The Vizsla is a Hungarian breed of dog that originated as a hunting dog. With their rusty-colored coat and sleek build, the Vizsla is both athletic and elegant.
Vintage English Bulldogge
The Vintage English Bulldogge, sometimes referred to simply as the Old English Bulldogge, is a loyal companion that boasts some impressive bulk. This breed was originally bred for bull-baiting in England centuries ago. They may look intimidating at first glance, but these dogs are actually quite affectionate towards their families.
Volpino Italiano
While technically classified as a toy breed by many kennel clubs around the world, the Volpino Italiano can grow up to be significantly larger than other toy breeds like Chihuahuas or Pomeranians. This ancient breed has been popular throughout Italy for centuries thanks to its fluffy coat and lively personality.
Vallhund
Another Scandinavian favorite on this list is the Vallhund–a Swedish herding dog that looks like an adorable mix between a corgi and German shepherd! These dogs were originally used on farms in Sweden where they helped farmers round up livestock while also being loyal companions who could protect them from predators if necessary.
Ventosilla Spanish Mastiff
The Ventosilla Spanish Mastiff hails from Spain where it was once prized as both a guard dog and for its ability to take down large game like wild boars and bears. These gentle giants can weigh over 200 pounds, making them one of the largest dog breeds in existence. Despite their formidable size, however, Ventosillas are known for being affectionate with their families.
